 MONTREAL, QUEBEC - SEPTEMBER 17 2020: Members of the Falun Dafa spiritual group gather to demonstrate outside Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica on September 12th, 2020, to raise awareness about the alleged corruption occurring in China. Journalist Tanya Du explained how the Chinese communist party has allegedly been increasing state sanctioned violence against the group over the past 20 years as they see the large Falun Dafa following as a threat to communist power. Some of the demonstrators are survivors of Chinese labor camps who were supposedly taken because of their beliefs and spiritual practices. When asked about their banner which reads, "Le parti communiste chinois a blamer pour la pandemie", Du claims their party has bribed organizations like the W.H.O to postpone declarations of a public health concern of international concern. MONTREAL, QUEBEC - OCTOBER 4 2020: A protest is held in downtown Montreal demanding justice for Joyce Echaquan on October 3rd 2020. Speakers publicly challenged Premiere Legault's denial of systemic racism in Quebec despite the historic and current genocidal efforts of the Canadian government toward Indigenous peoples, specifically women, which were most recently exemplified by the death of Joyce Echequan in a Montreal hospital.
